Tahoe Rim Trail – Mt Rose to Tunnel Creek Road – Great Basin Bicycles – singltrack – Reno – Tahoe

This portion of the Tahoe Rim Trail (TRT) starts on top of Mt. Rose Highway and heads south to Tunnel Creek Road. Many connect this trail to The Great Flume which overlooks Lake Tahoe. I decided to make this video all hand held to highlight the spectacular views. This section of the TRT crosses over the ridge a couple of times. So at one point you are overlooking Lake Tahoe, and at another point, you are overlooking Washoe Valley. The trail if fairly easy, but it does have some very technical sections, and is just over 9 miles long. This video was shot using a small hand held Sony Digi Cam. I opted for no music on this video just because the natural sounds of the wind and birds I just love. You can also hear a bell that is on my bike. When ever I am riding in high hiker traffic trails, I always use the bell. Hikers can hear me coming from miles away. Then they are off the trail before I ever see them coming. I am usually the rider that stops for everyone, but with the bell, I never get a chance to pull over first. Hikers have stopped me and thanked me for using the bell. Bikes are stealthy, and you can sneak up on a hiker without them ever realizing you are behind them. The bell is a great way to SHARE!!! the trail. For the free GPS trail map for this ride, and many others in the area go to greatbasinbicycles.com The two bikes in the video are a Cannondale Scalpel Carbon, and a Yeti Arc.
