Return To Lake Tahoe Article Archive   Pleasant Trip To Lake Tahoe And Reno By Hema B When I wanted to go to Lake Tahoe, I was browsing the net to find the information. I got lots of information in the net but not exactly what I want. So I thought of writing this explaining where to go and what you can do in Tahoe, to help all our friends who wants to visit Lake Tahoe and thinking what to visit. I wrote this with just my visit experience, so hopefully this will be helpful to the readers Lake Tahoe is a nice place to visit. You will really enjoy the snow, boat ride and Cable car trip to Heavenly Gandola. Drive towards North Lake Tahoe. If you are going on I80 to North Lake Tahoe, you will reach the Lake spot, get down there. Enjoy the Lake view, have fun with little snow over there. This is a nice place you find wooden benches to sit, relax and have food. There is a Safeway opposite to the Lake. You can do shopping if you want like, snacks, drinks, snowing boards or sledge. From here, with in very visible distance you will see Stateline between California and Nevada. Drive towards Nevada state. You will see lots of Casinos as soon as you enter Nevada. While you are driving towards FREE WAY to RENO, You can find lots of skiing sites on left and right side. I found one open Skiing place on the left side was good. Its open to the public and FREE. Just park the car on the road side and jump into this skiing place. If you have sledge or something to slide on the snow, you will really have fun. Just walk up on the little slope and slide on the snow. Walk around there to play with the snow and you may also find snow dolls, which are made by some of the kids. Enjoy as much as you can and proceed towards Reno. When you reach Reno, wow you will be thrilled to see the city with the lights from the freeway, as the freeway above the city level. You can stay in any casino hotel, like Circus Circus and visit all the casinos, play slot machines and gamble. All the casinos are very close by. Good luck, hope you gain some. Also see the Arch in the Reno City Next Day, you leave from Reno and drive towards South Lake Tahoe. You will first reach Lake in South Lake Tahoe. There is boat ride; Boat ride is really good in summer. But if you can go, it is also good in winter. Then go ahead towards Gandola, it is very close to Stateline, you will find this on the left side. Follow the sign boards to park your car and the cable car to go on top of the Gandola Hill. Ticket to this is $24(non-holiday) and $26(Holiday) for adults. You can stay on top of the hill as long as you like and come down by any return Cable car. And then catch US-50 West and get on to I80.
